Thankful For Your Home
Thanksgiving has ended, but the time to be thankful has not. This holiday is a time when we get together with friends and family, when we cook and eat, and also take the time to think about what we are thankful for.
When making a list of what you’re thankful for, do you include your home? Having a home is something be thankful for indeed, but let’s think of the specifics. You may be thankful for the stone fireplace in your large living room, or the beautiful shower in the master bathroom. You could be thankful for the master bedroom being on the main floor, while your kid’s bedrooms are all upstairs. You may be thankful for the pool, or thankful for not having a pool to take care of.
On the other hand, there may be some things you aren’t thankful for. You may be growing your family, but your home is not growing with you. Your kids have all moved out and now your space is too much for you. You just adopted a puppy and now need a bigger yard.
You could try to repair or replace the things you aren’t thankful for in your home, or you could start over with a new home to be thankful for. If you are growing your family, you may want to consider selling your current home, where someone with a smaller family could live there and be thankful for their perfect size home. Then your family can buy a home with more space that better suits your needs.
Or, you may be on the other side, where your kids have all moved out, and now you don’t need as much space. You may want to consider selling your home, where someone with a bigger family or with needs for a bigger space can purchase your home, and you can find another home with a size that will fit your needs.
You may want a bigger kitchen, a bigger yard, a separate laundry room, a different floor plan, etc. There are endless opportunities when searching for a new home!
It’s important to be thankful and especially for your home, but if there are things you aren’t thankful for, you can change that!
